I’m Sam Floyd. I come in, spend time in your actual workflow, and get your software doing what you paid for it to do — so your team stops working around it and starts working with it.
Platforms I work with
Most trade business owners have a CRM, a scheduling app, maybe a few other things. The problem is that nobody in the building has the time, the expertise, or the desire to dig in and get it all working together. So it stays half configured and half used.
That is exactly the gap I fill. I come in as the subject matter expert your team never had, audit everything with fresh eyes, and fix what is actually broken — not what a software vendor told you was broken.
I’m Sam Floyd. Before starting Floyd Automations, I spent over ten years inside fast-scaling startup tech companies as a systems admin and integrations lead — the person responsible for making the tools actually work under pressure.
I was also a Product Manager at Close, an SMB CRM used by thousands of small businesses including roofers, plumbers, and HVAC companies. I watched how trade businesses actually used that software every day — and how much they left on the table because nobody ever set it up right.
I come from a military background, which means I think in systems and SOPs. When I document something, your newest hire can follow it without calling you.
The most important thing I can tell you: I am not going to be here forever, and I know that going in. My job is to leave you in a better position than I found you — working software, trained team, clean documentation. That is the deal.
Background
We talk through your business straight. What you have, what's not working, and what it would actually take to fix it. No pitch, no upsell.
I look at every tool and process with fresh eyes, map out what needs to change, and give you a clear plan — not a vague proposal.
I implement the changes, train your team on what changed and why, and write the documentation before I leave.
I'm not here to become a dependency. I'm here to leave you better off. When we're done, you don't need me anymore. That's the point.
Your tools are configured correctly, connected to each other, and used the way they were meant to be.
Leads, jobs, follow-ups — all tracked and accounted for. No more guessing what's falling through the cracks.
Clear SOPs, hands-on training, and documentation so nothing depends on one person figuring it out.
It works, your team uses it, and you get back to running the business instead of firefighting the software.
“We were running everything on spreadsheets and nobody was on the same page. Sam came in, got us set up on Jobber, connected it to QuickBooks, and wrote out exactly how we use it day-to-day. Six months later we’re still running the same playbook he left us.”
Almost never. My job is to get the most out of what you already have — not sell you something new. If a tool genuinely isn't the right fit, I'll tell you honestly, but that's rarely the issue.
Depends on the scope. A focused CRM cleanup and integration is usually 2–4 weeks. A full stack audit, rebuild, and team training typically runs 4–8 weeks. I'll give you a clear timeline upfront.
Every engagement is scoped to your situation. After our first call, I'll put together a flat-fee proposal so there are no surprises. No hourly billing, no scope creep.
You get everything: documented SOPs, configured systems, and a trained team. I'm also available for follow-up questions for 30 days after we wrap. The goal is that you genuinely don't need me after that.
I was a PM at Close CRM where a large portion of our customers were roofers, plumbers, and HVAC companies. I've watched how this industry actually uses software — and where it always breaks down. I know the tools, the workflows, and the problems.
